Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the were Lynas Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:), which rose 12.36% or 0.75 points to trade at 6.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Zip Co Ltd (ASX:) added 6.67% or 0.02 points to end at 0.32 and Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:) was up 5.87% or 0.21 points to 3.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elders Ltd (ASX:), which fell 4.33% or 0.27 points to trade at 5.96 at the close. Healius Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.14% or 0.07 points to end at 2.16 and Austal Ltd (ASX:) was down 2.87% or 0.05 points to 1.69.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 597 to 569 and 366 ended unchanged.
Shares in Healius Ltd (ASX:) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.14% or 0.07 to 2.16.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.14% to 15.29.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.55 to $1,987.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.33% or 0.28 to hit $85.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.31 to trade at $90.14 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 0.64, while AUD/JPY rose 0.31% to 95.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 105.30.
