Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the added 1.01%, while the index added 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:), which rose 3.05% or 37.60 points to trade at 1,269.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Coal India Ltd (NS:) added 3.03% or 9.25 points to end at 314.50 and Axis Bank Ltd (NS:) was up 2.87% or 27.85 points to 999.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UPL Ltd (NS:), which fell 0.40% or 2.25 points to trade at 558.80 at the close. ITC Ltd (NS:) declined 0.10% or 0.45 points to end at 433.90 and LTIMindtree Ltd (NS:) was down 0.09% or 4.65 points to 5,165.85.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:) which rose 3.07% to 1,001.75, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 3.01% to settle at 1,268.55 and State Bank Of India (BO:) which gained 2.53% to close at 561.00.
The worst performers were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.72% to 5,385.55 in late trade, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which lost 0.14% to settle at 2,954.30 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.07% to 8,206.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1689 to 353 and 46 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2715 rose and 820 declined, while 127 ended unchanged.
Shares in UPL Ltd (NS:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.40% or 2.25 to 558.80.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 7.03% to 10.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 3.65 to $1,993.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.18% or 1.81 to hit $85.02 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.14% or 1.88 to trade at $89.81 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.14% to 83.23, while EUR/INR fell 0.04% to 87.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 106.39.
