India stocks mixed at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.02%

Investing.com – India stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.02%, while the index climbed 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:), which rose 2.88% or 100.15 points to trade at 3,580.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:) added 1.72% or 49.90 points to end at 2,944.10 and Infosys Ltd (NS:) was up 1.67% or 24.65 points to 1,501.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:), which fell 4.22% or 15.35 points to trade at 348.40 at the close. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) declined 3.57% or 7.08 points to end at 191.30 and NTPC Ltd (NS:) was down 3.29% or 8.00 points to 235.10.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which rose 2.91% to 3,580.60, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which was up 1.68% to settle at 2,942.80 and Infosys Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.66% to close at 1,500.80.

The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.48% to 191.40 in late trade, NTPC Ltd (BO:) which lost 3.31% to settle at 234.90 and Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.68% to 128.85 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1867 to 182 and 27 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2854 fell and 693 advanced, while 121 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.88% or 100.15 to 3,580.80. Shares in Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.72% or 49.90 to 2,944.10. Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.91% or 101.25 to 3,580.60. Shares in Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.68% or 48.75 to 2,942.80.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.02% to 11.69.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 8.55 to $1,938.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.85% or 0.74 to hit $88.03 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.64 to trade at $91.28 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.08% to 82.95, while EUR/INR fell 0.26% to 88.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 104.47.
