Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.33%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 1.33% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index declined 2.24%, and the index declined 1.90%.

The best performers of the session on the were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which rose 0.90% or 1.90 points to trade at 213.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) added 0.50% or 0.05 points to end at 10.00 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) was up 0.32% or 1.20 points to 378.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 4.86% or 2.22 points to trade at 43.47 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) declined 4.17% or 13.90 points to end at 319.10 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was down 3.27% or 0.79 points to 23.34.

The top performers on the MDAX were RTL Group SA (ETR:) which rose 0.67% to 33.18, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:) which was up 0.21% to settle at 6.84 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which gained 0.17% to close at 59.30.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 10.62% to 19.27 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:) which lost 6.39% to settle at 27.84 and Lanxess AG (ETR:) which was down 5.78% to 24.92 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) which fell 0.20% to 45.74, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 0.25% to settle at 31.44 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which lost 0.53% to close at 22.66.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 10.62% to 19.27 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 5.12% to settle at 28.52 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.47% to 11.44 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 529 to 115 and 93 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 0.90% or 1.90 to 213.80. Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.32% or 1.20 to 378.50. Shares in Befesa SA (ETR:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.39% or 1.90 to 27.84. Shares in Lanxess AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.78% or 1.53 to 24.92.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 8.67% to 15.79.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.40% or 27.55 to $1,939.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.31% or 0.28 to hit $89.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.11 to trade at $93.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 105.04.
